On 12 June 2015, Official Journal of the European Union published notification that an updated edition EN 62115:2005/A12:2015 was adopted to coordinate special safety requirements for EU Directive 2009/48/EC Safety of toys. The transitional period of the previous version is from now to 3 June 2017.

The biggest change in the amendment lies in the addition of EMF（Toys generating Electromagnetic Fields (EMF)）to human body radiation. The relevant amendment are as follows:
1. Clause 7.5 highlights: explanation of the important information remained in the packaging shall be made when identification and user manual are only indicated in the packaging under Clause 7.4.
2. Clause 9.8.2 stipulates that short circuits in underpower circuits are caused by connecting underpower points to electrodes of power supply. In case of any danger in the case, the short circuits shall be resolved and the test shall be perfomed from a) to f) in corresponding underpower circuits.
3. Annex ZC EMF are added, requiring no testing when toys contain no motor, inductance, IC or when there is only passive electronic component and the current of toys is less than 3A. In that case, it is deemed as compliance with the requirement. Otherwise, it shall be appraised according to requirement of EN 62233:2008.
